On 16th February 2013, the graduates of the Joop van den Ende Academy made their stage debut with the German translation of the Off-Broadway classic, “Dames At Sea” in the purposely built New York Studio Theatre at the Stage Entertainment Studios in Hamburg. The young talent delighted audiences with show-stopping musical numbers, exciting choreography, and utterly charming characters, and were rewarded accordingly with standing ovations and rapturous applause.

The scene is Big Time New York and sweet, young Ruby arrives from Utah with nothing but a pair of tap shoes and a dream in her heart. She finds a job on Broadway in the chorus but on the day of the premiere, the theatre is sold and demolished. As luck would have it, the captain and crew onboard a docked US Navy ship manage to save the day, and in true Hollywood fashion, Ruby becomes not only a star but sweetheart of the navy to boot!
